The law- (the higher the temperature, the greater the amount of energy that is released. ) The amount of energy that a blackbody emits is proportional to the fourth power of its absolute temperature. The wavelength of the peak radiance decreases linearly the temperature increases. (the warmer the body, the shorter the wavelength; the colder the body, the longer the wavelength. ) Combing these two laws, warmer bodies (like the sun) released energy at very short wavelengths at a greater amounts. Blackbody means an object that absorbs and emits radiation uniformly and with 100% efficiency. One of three ways: conduction: molecule to molecule transfer of heat, convection: energy transfer through physical mixing involving strong vertical motion, advection: physical mixing involving strong horizontal motion.
