Tried to get people together to fight common enemy. Uses power to launch military attacks on greek cities. Athenians did not see phillip of macedon as a threat. One of the first cities he attacked was amphilpolis (357 bc) Keep attacking greek cultures, non of them take a stand against them. Battle of khieronea (important battle) at this point alexander is 18 going into war with his father, athens and allies are defeated. ^ this battle gives them power over most of southern greece these cities are united under their conquer.
