Goals were much more limited (higher wages and better working conditions). Denied membership to unskilled workers such as nearly all blacks, women, and new european immigrants. Not for banning child labor and equal pay for equal work. Support mainstream politicians who might be willing to help afl with limited goals. Says they are labor union"s most powerful weapons.
