Regional planning- dealing with the general pattern of what goes where and what/what not to build. This profession grew from park and recreational planning in this country. Land development planning- landscape architects were designing subdivisions because that is where most people wanted to live because it seemed better . Ecological planning and design- studying the interacting of people and their environment. Landscapers are the typically the people who focus on fundamentally garden designs and the looks of the land.
