Global igos involve states from all over the world: concert of europe (1815) created after napoleonic wars. Conf would be held when states had dispute to settle. Resolved some conflicts but eventually led to wwi: some consider failure bc of major war (wwi, league of nations (1919) created after wwi. Managed to stabilize post-wwi period, resettle refugees across europe, & helped in administration of disputed territories: some consider failure bc of major war (wwii, un (1945) created after wwii. If other ios are considered failures bc of major wars, then un could be considered success. Many are frustrated by organization though: some say un has served more as talking shop , dealt w/ korean war, 1st gulf war, etc, nato created after cold war.
