Research project: pick 2 different countries, make it as recent/contemporary as possible, cover history, leadership, institutions etc, examine them toward their position of development; democracy, predict what will happen for them. Are they going to stay the same: independence, president, population, elections, political parties. Not working: economic problem is poverty, strategies, land reform, debt cancellation, privatization/government ownership, foreign aid. Why does poverty happen: man ppl from impoverished countries leave and abandon their homes. Never return to help it become better: greed wealthy don"t want to help poor, nature unfavorable climate, soil, environment does not help countries. Prisoners of geography : politics mistakes that happen on part of leaders. Sanctions put on countries by others: major corruption. Which 2 seem less constraining: classes, clientelism, and corruption, ethnicity, race, and caste system, education and social changes, women, population, and development, define and explain intervening factors/forces in third world politics.
