Document Summary

Prokaryotes do go thru photosynthesis, first photosynthesis done by bacteria. Nucleus, mitochondria, golgi, er, typical membrane bound organelles. Plant, at night it uses glucose in presence of oxygen to make atp. Root of the plant, not many chloroplasts bc not much light. If brain cells do not get oxygen they cant make atp and die. Co2 + h2o >>> c6h12o6 + o2. Glucose- organic compound; carbs or carbohydrate (carbon and water - ch2o x 6 >> glucose. Oxygen comes from the water in the equation. Co2 in air surrounding leaves, diffusion- high concentration to low concentration (leaves lower concentration) Protists: mostly single cell, eukaryote also go thru photosynthesis. Bacteria: prokaryotic, layers of membranes which are required for photo to take place. At night, cellular respiration thru the mitochondrion takes place instead of photo (in leaves) Normal oxygen concentration in air is around 21% Plants can do cell respiration during sunlight too. For photo, plants needs co2, water, and sunlight.
