Document Summary

Dna in uncondensed form so that it can be read. Chromosome 1 from mom and chromosome 1 from dad, not identical. Undividing phase of cell cycle - interphase, dividing - mitosis. Start with one cell - g1 - s phase (synthesis of dna - form sister chromatids) - g2. 23 pairs of chromosomes are split between two cells thru mitosis. 23 pairs in each new daughter cell. Replicated chromosomes ripped apart to get two chromosome number ones in unreplicated form. Target cell cycle in chemotherapy to treat cancer. Proteins control cell cycle - some cancers affect the proteins. Interphase - diploid - pair of each chromosome - replicated uncondensed. Proteins turn on to condense chromosomes so it"s easier to move around. Proteins act as anchors - anchor ties to chromosome. Ropes start to be formed - proteins. Anchors move to opposite sides of cell. So that chromosomes are free to move within the cell.
