Miraculous events start to happen: blind can see, paralyzed can walk, etc. Gives birth to baby boy (siddhartha gantama: lotus flowers bloom where his feet touch the ground. A sage shows up: tells the king he ha a prophecy about your son. If he sees these four things, he will renounce his future of becoming a king and become the savior. Renunciation: sannayasin, renounced everything; step out of social system to pursue spiritual liberation. Gets close to this and then encounters mara"s temptations: mara"s temptations. Mara is a demon who wants all people to suffer.
