He tells them instead that they will receive the holy spirit and they will have this power to preach his message: this community saw the spirit as a sign that the last days have arrived. Jesus tells them to go back to jerusalem to wait for the spirit. They were all together in one place and then the holy spirit came down and ga(cid:448)e the(cid:373) (cid:862)to(cid:374)gues of fire(cid:863) to speak other languages to deliver the messages. He says that what is happening that is like in joel, that the spirit is a sign that the last days have arrived: shared their goods in anticipation of the end.
