What is civil law: civil law is private law, there are 5 major areas of civil law. Tort law- deals with wrongful acts or an infringement of a right (other than under contract) leading to civil legal liability. Property law- law dealing with the sale of real property. Juvenile law- law that deal with people who are under 18. Civil law performs an essential duty, but people seem to dislike it.
