Theatre in the form of drama appeared in ancient greece in the 6th century. Theatre brought together the age of signs and symbols, the age of spoken. Theatre medium as cultural practice (using prof. uricchio"s definition of media as practices. ) The greeks invented drama: form of written literature. The stories from the greek myths and stories from history etc. , were transformed into a play. Theatron- greek word for a place where the plays (dramas) were performed and seen. Drama- greek word meaning action (the first written, literary form meant to be seen on the stage and not read by the public) Modern drama film: conflictive, life & death dilemma, Greek drama: incorporated everything with action to be presented on the stage. Theatre- in the form of drama appeared around 600 bce. With democracy: and amount of symbols for written language: Everyone gained the right to gain a general education. There became an easy way to become literate.
