Ann adams created a painting called unraveling bolero when inspired by listening to maurice ravels bolero. Both adams and ravel suffered from frontotemporal dementia, a disease associated with changes in artistic and musical tastes and skills as well as with an increase in repetitive behaviors. The neuron is the building block of the nervous system. Our brains control our thinking, feeling, and behavior. Psychologists study the brain using many different methods. Putting it all together: the nervous system and the endocrine system. Cajal was a spanish neuroscientist and novel laureate. His investigations of the microscopic structure of the brain has led him to be designated as the father of modern neuroscience. Major parts of a neuron: soma (cell body) Sends the information to the soma: axon. Transmits information away from the cell body, toward other neurons or muscles and glands. Specialized parts of the axon: myelin sheath- layer of fatty tissue surrounding the axon.
