Muscle tissue increases slowly, doesn"t peak until adolescence (strength and coordination limited) Average newborn sleeps 2/3rds of every day, cry 4-15min of every hour. They cry b/c general distress call (lots of different needs) Difficult cries (cocaine addict, low bw) more aversive cry than a typical newborn.
