1 in 16 americans say they don"t have enough to eat. In the first 3 years of life, they can have drastic effects. Food stamp program (a family of 3 must make less than ,000) Hunger and obesity are often closely linked because they are both effects of having insufficient funds/being in poverty. Processed, unhealthy food is cheaper by calorie than healthy food. We subsidize corn, soybeans, wheat more than healthier produce. It"s expensive to deliver produce all the way to small stores in real small towns - food deserts. The unhealthy food is higher in fat, sugar, and sodium.
