There has always been a power struggle=> one has power, the other"s is destroyed. Racial prejudice is stronger in states which abolished slavery: whites are still superior, they are free but don"t share rights. Slavery is destroyed in the interests of whites. Colonies without slaves=> more prosperous: slavery was fatal to the master, populations greater, more industry, free workers=> more pro t. Men living but their own efforts aim for prosperity. Slave owners=> idle, lazy, and less interested in wealth.
