Democracy- system of government by whole population of state. Autocracy- system of government by one person with absolute power. Oligarchy- small group of people having control of country in government structure. Republic- system of government that resides in body of citizens who can vote and elected by officials who answer to citizens and who govern according to law. Legitimacy democracy- acceptance of authority, we accept our government structure, also spherical influence, more or less on how authority is accepted. Hard power- military coerce of approach to international public, military threat. Failure of current government under articles of confederation. Federalist argued that ambitious men begin as dangerous.
