The spring with k= 219 N/m has an unstretched length of 0.4 m. Neglect the mass of the rod and the size of the collar.

A uniform rod is rotating on a horizontal plane about a vertical axis through one end with a constant angular velocity ω0. Due to internal shear forces, the rod breaks at the mid-point of its length, and the part with the fixed axis has an angular velocity 1.5ω0 in the same sense. Determine the angular velocity of the other half.
