Document Summary
The needs for psychological science: why do we need psychology: help those with problems of a psychological nature, to know things about why people do what they do, how we affect our environment and how it affects us. Answer: many questions we ask that are of psychological nature (may seem like common sense questions, but that is only after the fact). Commonsense describes what has happened after the fact more easily than it predicts what will happen before the fact. Tell one group of people that psychologists have found that separation weakens romantic attraction. Common sense- out of sight, out of mind!
