Advances in technology and competitive pressures have created jobs that are more cognitively complex and demanding. More collaboration is essential for effective action across jobs and functions enacted in virtual as well as face to face interactions. Department of defense: up to 14 years to develop an expert defense acquisition specialist: 70% will retire within the next 5-7 years.
