Power and authority are the features that allow the state and its components to keep and enforce social order in society. The state also influences public opinion through its power to regulate the media. Surveillance cameras are another means of maintaining social control. These are places strategically throughout places such as airports and train stations. All societies are organized around an economic base. The economy of a society is the system by which goods and services are produced, distributed, and consumed. Economy is a social institution and it interfaces with all other social institutions.
