Document Summary

Time management: essential planning skill in the fast-paced and complicated world of business and for new graduates entering the workforce. Planning is the process of setting objectives and identifying how to achieve them: table 5. 1: steps in the planning process. Step 1: define your objectives: know where you want to go, be specific enough to know you have arrived when you get there and how far off you are along the way. Objectives: specific results that one wishes to achieve. They are targets that point us toward the future and provide a frame of reference for evaluating the process. Step 2: determine where you stand vis- -vis objectives: know where you presently stand in reaching the objectives; identify strengths that work in your favor and weaknesses that can hold you back. Compare where you are at present with the objectives. Becomes standard against which future progress can be gauged.
