No one wins presidential majority vote: twice in history. 1800: thomas jefferson vs. aaron burr both voted for equally, many battles. Jefferson elected anticipated 12th amendment -- separate ballots. 1824: john quincy adams, andrew jackson, william crawford. Jackson won popular vote, but came up short in electoral college. No one wins vice presidential majority vote: once in history.
