Chapters 5, 6, 8 review sheet on moodle. 50 questions multiple choice & true/false scenarios focus on what you don"t understand study by grouping e. g. , language rules. Way of organizing events (mind and body experiences) and preparing for what next - reaction. Decisions cannot just be rational - need the gut feeling side of it. Feelings = can be more persistent during the day. Involve unique and consistent behavioral displays across cultures. Six key aspects of emotion: triggered by outside events. Involves physiological arousal: requires awareness/labeling, vary in valence and intensity, governed by preexisting norms, reflected in verbal and nonverbal displays. Particularly when we think there are people interfering. Norms about what can create that arousal and what stems from it. Things that are perceived to be the norm. Not as good at expressing or reading emotions. Lack of emotion shown - emotional displays inhibited. Good at picking out subtle differences in verbal communication/emotion.
