Justice kennedy announces his retirement, to take effect when a new justice is confirmed by the senate. A week later president trump makes his nomination for his replacement, Brett kavanaugh, currently an appellate court judge on the dc circuit. Each member of the class will take the position of either a senator on the senate. You will then do research on the areas below and that individual"s views on that area. Senators will work in groups with other members of their party to split up this research. Starting on february 21 we will have a confirmation hearing. During this hearing, to be run by the committee chair, each senator will have. Following the questioning there will be a vote to determine whether the nominee will supported by the committee. Senators will need to submit a list of the questions that they ask, every person must submit questions individually. The nominee will submit an outline of potential answers on each topic.
