We will find out in the next few weeks more information about this. It"s important to be self-aware of your own emotions, because they can reflect onto clients. Situations clients might have that we are not fully prepared to handle: death, divorce, abuse, parenting, depression, anxiety, trauma, foster care/adoption, financial concerns, career concerns, identity issues, addictions, isolation, crime, suicide, grief. We need to be able to relate to clients with emotions, but not necessarily personal experience. Push yourself to learn about the situations you are most nervous about because you will most likely experience these. Find one thing in every client to like.
