The authorial content of his play has 2 parts: His play are about looking, about looking. If you"re an experimental author, you"re bound to find the tempest more interesting than his other plays. So shakespeare puts in oral signatures to shut the audience up. Shakespeare"s play is oral, to be listened to, but film is to be watched. But in shakespeare"s day the hierarchy of a father and her daughter is essential, couldn"t break it. Her modesty is what makes her stand out. So shakespeare"s vision of a female is limited by his own culture. Old, like 40+, because he"s meant to be wise. In shakespeare"s day, the wise are the old. One of the areas shakespeare does well in terms of film is special effects. Somehow the spirits are meant to conjure up a feast. Prospero pretends to be a dog and they bark.
