British movies have more of a political view, whereas american movies tend to have moralistic and individualistic views. Way british produces movies is industrially different than hollywood. British movies take from hollywood but very often hollywood takes from british movies. Example: the office was started in the uk. Matinee idols: those on screen that viewers wanted to be like. British people wanted what was in american films, admired the american celebrities in the movies. American movies and the actors in them were seen to be very glamorous. British movies were swamped by american movies bc britain loves american movies, even now. See far less glamorous people in british film. Ex: some people have spots, bad teeth, bad hair day, and it doesn"t matter. Americans tends to go for a middle-range accent, something everyone can understand. In britain, they embrace regions, so the accents fit the settings, even if the viewers can"t understand the accent.
