Choosing Effective Visuals
● 5 C’s of Visual Support → must focus on ONE idea:
○ 1. Concentration:
■ concentrate all the data that you want to present
○ 2. Clarity:
■ each visual should be perfectly clear from the back of the room
○ 3. Consistency:
■ consistent style and tone and should support overall theme
○ 4. Correctness:
■ nothing destroys your credibility
○ 5. Control:
■ not giving everyone all of the information right at first
■ USE WITH CAUTION
● do not want to do this to every chart, but can be used
■ Example:
● How the Classic Car Market is Slowing
● Show the trends along a timeline
○ not giving them the different segments all at once
○ controlling what the audience sees at a particular moment
