Choosing Effective Visuals
5 C’s of Visual Support must focus on ONE idea:
1. Concentration:
concentrate all the data that you want to present
2. Clarity:
each visual should be perfectly clear from the back of the room
3. Consistency:
consistent style and tone and should support overall theme
4. Correctness:
nothing destroys your credibility
5. Control:
not giving everyone all of the information right at first
USE WITH CAUTION
do not want to do this to every chart, but can be used
Example:
How the Classic Car Market is Slowing
Show the trends along a timeline
not giving them the different segments all at once
controlling what the audience sees at a particular moment
