Guest speaker: rebecca love - nurse innovation and entrepreneurship. Two things that are important in nurse education: Results that you have to follow a protocol and systems to a t does not give much room for innovation. Nurses are the end user of 98% of products in healthcare. Design should be tailored to the end user. But they are not because burses are not the buyer. But designs for products do not consider who is using them like nurses. Nurses on average are in 36 places per hour. 60 million dollars has been invested into a product that was used on nurses (communication device) but it was a large failure because the nurses hated it, did not fit their need. Started in bu for nursing: she felt very hindered in her career for opportunities. Nurses are the largest profession, makes up 4 million of the health care professions in the nation.
