Triple bottom line refers to the corporate global citizen meaning that a company has to make economic profits while giving back to the local community and practicing sustainability. Managers have an obligation to act in the interest of shareholders. If foreign currency goes up relative to the u. s. dollar, americans pay more for goods purchased from that country. If the u. s. dollar goes down relative to foreign currency, foreign buyers pay less for goods purchased from that country.
