Results from how we think, what we focus on, and how we react to certain events. Belief that one can successfully perform a specific task - self fulfilling prophecies. Expect something to happen actually helps to make it happen. Can be positive / negative - be aware of your thoughts - expectations of failure will lead to failure. Trait self confident - degree of certainty you usually have doubt about your ability to succeed. State self confidence - degree of certainty you have at a particular moment about your ability to succeed also known as self efficacy . Lack of self confidence - have the skills but no belief. Over confidence - false belief that confidence is greater than abilities. Optimal confidence - appropriately convinced of what you can do and work as hard as you can to achieve your goals. Either you have it or you don"t. Lack confidence but act arrogance to make up for deficiencies.
