The book illustrates the heavy issue of eviction in milwaukee and how it acts as a cause, not a condition of poverty. The author"s reaso(cid:374) for (cid:449)riti(cid:374)g the (cid:271)ook (cid:449)as (cid:271)e(cid:272)ause his pare(cid:374)ts lost their home in foreclosure. It made him realize the basic facts of poverty and inequality of poverty. Also, the author aims to represent that eviction causes job loss. That are working for low wages and weak finances, the lack of affordable housing can cause them to make mistakes at work and eventually lose their jobs. This seems out of step with what the nation feels is right, or fair. The author covers many cases to get his point across such as those of arleen belle, sherrena, and doreen hinkston.
