Work: fabrication of artificial things cities, buildings, etc. Action: political or public action, including deliberation and participating in public affairs. What makes man a political being is his faculty to act. Deliberate form of action, more than just voting from home. Take part because it enables one to express who they are not because it is necessary. Politically speaking, it is not enough to say that power and violence are not the same. Power and violence are opposites; where the one rules absolutely, the other is absent. Indeed, it is one of the most obvious distinctions between power and violence that power always stands in need of numbers, whereas violence relying on instruments up to a point can manage without them. (arendt) To say that something is nonviolent power is redundant because power is the opposite of violence and is thus always nonviolent. One does not acquire power from having weapons.
