Indeed, sometimes the argument of one dialogue will contradict another. Plato philophizes rather coming to fixed conclusions. Socrates who really was plato"s teacher is the presiding philosopher in every dialogue. But is plato merely recording exactly what socrates said, since socrates never wrote anything down, or is it really plato"s artistry, with socrates as his main character. Let"s call the author the platonic socrates .
