Medina: the first city which listened to muhammad"s teachings, this was important, since he gained the necessary support to go back to mecca. The connection between islam, christianity, and judaism: they were all abrahamic religions, they all believed in the old testament. Differences between sunni and shiite muslims: muhammad, abu bakr, ali: sunni: felt like the caliph should be chosen by leaders of the muslim community.
