Ideas sprung from his head fully tuned as if he was taking diction- just wrote them down. Finished compositions in his mind without corrections. Composed a wealth of simple, elegant, songful melodies- mozart was a melodist. His works, at the same time, had a sense of drama, depth of emotion, contrasts of mood, rich ornamentation. Best roles went to sopranos- male or female silly situations, humorous dialogue. A sacred work with a chorus, soloists, and an orchestra. Usually 12 movements with pre-set texts in latin. A nobleman commissioned a requiem to mozart anonymously. He meant to claim it as his own. As mozart"s health grew worse, he wrote it for himself. His student, franz xavier sussymayr finished it for him. Went to vienna and took lessons with salieri and haydn.
