Members of one sex compete among themselves for access to the opposite sex. Darwin"s finches not afraid of humans because of lack of exposure from humans on the islands; they could easily pick them up. Made darwin ill because it went against all of his strong ideas until he thought of sexual selection. Natural selection can and does occur, but it"s not inevitable sexual selection the difference is that intersexual females choosing males, members of one sex choose their mates from among multiple members of the opposite sex.
