SFII-UF 102 Lecture 6: Rumi Key Text Part 2
Document Summary
Key feature, not taking offence at maltreatment. Taking offence is an attribute of self-existence and egocentricity wheras the sufi is non-existent and ego-less. Ex: when someone"s yelling at you for no reason, it isn"t about you. It"s not saying whatever" and showing apathy; you need to understand what happened but not take offence. More modern life had a social component (public called you out) so you can"t ignore it egotistical to get offended because sufis believe that everyone is one" If you"re all one" part of the same body, you shouldn"t take offence and lash back because it"s self-destructive. There is a community of the spirit. Join it, and feel the delight of walking in the noisy street and being the noise. Drink all your passion, and be a disgrace. Close both eyes to see with the other eye. Open your hands, if you want to be held. Quit acting like a wolf, and feel the shepherd"s love filling you.
