Evolution- development and coming about of the present animal. Production- domesticated animals are produced and used for human products. *natural selection works on existing variation & mutations introduce a new variation. Artificial selection- is how humans can interpose on the variations of a species to obtain desirable results: all species reproduce under food availability and suitable habitat, species success is dependent on optimum conditions. Domestication- is that process by which a population of animals becomes adapted to man and captive environment by some combination of genetic changes occurring over generations and environmentally induced developmental events recurring during each generation. Docility or tameness gave rise to the usage and rise of domesticated animals. Brings about atrophy of select organ systems.
