In creation, yes, but with the gifts given by hermes and prometheus, no. Prometheus uses the animal to trick zeus, thus creating distance b/t humans + gods. If the big story is progress, then great! Hesiod: humans get a nudge (the gift of fire) and progress on their own. Aeschylean: prometheus had to give humans everything. Zeus wanted everyone to get a share of justice in plato"s story. Prometheus"s role in creation via his son deucalion and his wife pyrrha. Lycaon tries to feed human meat to zeus, but zeus discovers his plan, becomes enraged. Creates a flood to wash out humanity (2 survivors - deucalion (prometheus"s son) and pyrrha) As juppiter/zeus relates the story of lycaon, the other gods react in shock, just as when.
