Tuff igneous, extrusive rock made of welded ash layers. Precambrian 1,000 to 542 mya: formed during basin extension (rifting, iapetus ocean, ocoee basin, composed of mud, silt and sand sediment. Clastic rocks formed from sediment (bits of broken rocks) Sandstone well sorted, rounded, fine grained. Shale very well sorted, rounded, very fine grained.
