Criticized representation because it was thought that the jews in the film are lacking in agency --aren"t shown as having done all that much to save themselves; they rely heavily on schindler like sheep. When in fact, we know some of the schindler jews engaged in armed resistance--not shown in film in order to play up schindler"s heroism. the jews are not passive; they are kind of hustling around on the black market. Schindler wants to give gifts to fellow nazis & relies on these jews involved in the black market to find & give worthy gifts. Jews seem naive (like levi"s jews); one was proud to know history, but stern insists that he not share that. & instead claim to be a metal worker. Jews are shown as being generally pretty religious, which is not totally historically accurate--jewish identity is a difficult category (non-jewish jew: argumentation against religion, etc. ).
