Document Summary
When reviewing the evidence that was given to me i have concluded the patient is facing damage to the hippocampus. The hippocampus located under the cerebral cortex is associated mainly with memory and spatial navigation. The patients head trauma being linked to memory and spatial navigation leads me to speculate that she has severe damage to her hippocampus. Balance and coordination is paired with the cerebellum of the brain. The cerebellum is in control of voluntary movements. These voluntary movements consist of coordination, speech, balance, and posture. This was the affected area of the patient from the knife injury. The patient is facing damage to the frontal lobe of her brain. The cerebral cortex which is located within the frontal lobe is connected with the hypothalamus. The hypothalamus is has the key purpose of maintaining homeostasis. The stroke more than likely affected the hypothalamus due to the unusual symptoms given in the example.
