Conscientiousness: well organized vs. disorganized, careful vs. careless, self-disciplined vs. weak-willed Extraversion: sociable vs. retiring, fun-loving vs. sober, affectionate vs. reserved. Agreeableness: softhearted vs. ruthless, trusting vs. suspicious, helpful vs. uncooperative. Current models of personality disorder are not based on variation in normal personality structure. The dsm is old framework before the big 5, rooted in opinion not empirical approach like big 5. There are many limitations of using the old structure. There was widespread optimism that this would change with the dsm-5, as the pds. Workgroup recommended (see e. g. , shelder et al. , 2010)
