In general the wise financial move is to start with pell grants and then utilize federal educational loans for your education as a student because the interest rates are much lower than bank loans. Also means that faculty can refuse federal research dollars that would be bad for osu because we get so much federal money for research. At osu what is more rewarded is research and writing, not teaching. Research is huge in the department of sociology too.
