THEATRE 2100 Lecture Notes - Lecture 6: Blake Edwards, Kassidy, Scenic Design
Document Summary
An enemy of the people: a question of morals. When i waked into the drake on performance day, the environment was much more sophisticated than the previous plays we have seen for class. Although it was not as intimate, this space felt more professional. Specific entrances, the large theatre atmosphere, and even assigned seating created high expectations for the performance. My first impression of the stage was very bland and small. The stage was full of what looked like plain walls with two smaller cabins on the side. It also appeared very small in size, as it cut off with plenty of space between it and the audience. But my impression proved to be reversed when the show began. The lights shown onto the walls to create rooms, the cabins were actually other rooms, and the blank space between the stage and audience was actually a whole other office space.
