Half of humanity lives in low income countries: about 60 countries, mostly in central and eastern africa and south asia. Poverty exists in all countries of the world; but it is most severe in low and middle income countries: poverty rates are highest in countries that have weak economies, weak industrialization. Poverty is associated with less complex economies and less technologically advanced infrastructure. Relative poverty: a level of poverty in which a person lacks resources that other members of society has access to.
