Every form of prejudice is based on an assumption that members of one group are better than members of another group. Aesthetic is a branch of philosophy that deals with notions of beauty. Early writings of plato(428 bce) and aristotle(328 bce) discuss beauty. Culture is a driving force in beauty and accepted norms. Knowing the culture is helpful when communicating for this reason. Knowing the values of your audience assists visual communication as well. The larger your aesthetic, the larger your cultural understanding, the more beauty you will find in the world. Looks at body image and defines a problem that is often hidden behind closed doors. Personal voice speaking of a direct and personal problem in a non- fictional way. The area of focus within the photograph is a very short, shallow, area aperture. Film plane- where the photograph is being taken. Area of apparent focus(variable) parallel to the film plane.
