Sensation: occurs when information interacts with sensory receptors (eyes, ears, tongue, nostrils, and skin) At 2 years, brain = 75% of adult. Brain"s primary motor areas develop earlier than other areas. Motherese- offers more reliable cues- soft, slow speech. Stage 1: self-regulation & interest in the world. Stage 4: emergence of organized sense of self.
